Girl, Interrupted.

Have you noticed how some people have this annoying habit of interrupting others in middle of a conversation? It has happened so many times with me, I have lost the count. But my husband has a very positive outlook towards it. According to him, we are in an age group/social group where most people are individualistic with strong points of view towards everything. To put them in a room and not to expect clashes would be pretty dumb. And in heat of the moment, one ends up cutting another mid sentence.
Agreed. But what if the interruption comes in the form of something that has no relation to the topic of discussion? The other day, hubby was seriously telling this lady friend of mine about his mother's health problems. This friend interrupts him with something as lame as " How many of you would like to have tea?" I mean, really??! I have no idea when was the last time I was so pissed!
But then it makes me wonder, how many times have I done the same thing to others? I do not have any conscious remembrance of such occurrence. But if I have done it to any of you out there, I sincerely apologize. And I solemnly swear, I would try not to cut anyone off, at least not deliberately, and provided you do not wrong me in anyway :D:D.

Things about me...

I took a leaf out of Anju's blog and am going to attempt saying some things about myself. Please dont hold your breath as I am not going to divulge anything too personal, at least not consciously, I will not :).
1) I am an insomniac, but I have learnt to live with it and enjoy it up to some extent.
2) I love to play dress up!
3) Am a sucker for accessories that I am not "supposed" to be wearing.
4) I hate people who love to give advises at the drop of a hat, but get deeply offended when someone else does the same to them!
5) Yep I am sensitive, but am definitely not moody.
6) I love to wear heels, but cant afford to wear anything longer than 3 inches:(.
7) I am a bookaholic, but give me a technical book, I will doze off in a minute.
8) I space out, and the spacing out gene has been passed from generation to generation on my mother's side.
9) I hate the fact that I listen and follow Srini's advises so often, but end up following the next time too, albeit grudgingly :).
9A) I love the fact that he heeds to my advises too though :)
10) My coffee addiction is on the rise.
11) I feel nauseous when I see coated tongues, food between the teeth, and dirty nails!
12) I hate (read fear) spiders and bed bugs with a passion.
13) Cockroaches come a close second.
14) I love love love animals.
15) I am nut crazy about dogs. yep, even the stray ones!
16) I firmly believe that men overestimate and women underestimate themselves.
17) I love chivalry :).
18) I don't like it when men treat a woman as another guy!
19) I am ridiculously competitive, but fortunately, that exists only through the course of the event. I believe I am a good winner, but an excellent loser :):).
20) I sometimes feel I speak too much, and that I should just shut up!

Gender bias in Shopping

Two of my friends and I went for shopping today and my friends who happen to be a couple started this argument about one of the most frequently asked questions...Is "shopping for pleasure" more of a woman's trait? This lady friend of mine strongly believes that regardless of how different two women are, one thing that commonly binds them is their passion for shopping. Though this is more of an observation on my friend's part than a proven norm, I, to a great extent agree with her.  But does that mean that men as a rule are averse to shopping? I beg to have a different opinion. I have seen enough men to declare that most love shopping. The difference just lies in their taste. I have seen men, who can spend hours and hours checking out gizmos and electronic gadgets but  not necessarily wanting to buy them. They are as happy window shopping as they are actually buying them. This, according to me, is the ultimate form of passion; to savor those moments spent in a shop checking out something that you love.
My verdict: Passion for shopping is more of an individualistic trait and not exactly dependent on the gender of the shopper.  Just the taste is different. Though I have to grudgingly admit that women, atleast marginally, are more prone to shopaholism. But hey, that could possibly be because it sure as hell doesnt make sense to have cell phones in 20 different colors and shapes and styles! :D:D

No idea...

After a long hiatus, I am back to touch base with my spot in the blog world (get it? blogspot:D). I really risked my reputation by sounding so like hubby darling with his absolute whacky (read PJ) sense of humor. Aaah! the perks of living with Srini :):).
My life in the past two months has been completely uneventful and utterly boring, with brief interesting moments. Interesting moments include shopping(not the grocery one, please), QA training, going for movies, playing the perennial couch potato..ok, not that one. Nothing brief about that. Not so interesting parts of my life...applying for jobs, playing the perennial couch potato.
I think that is good enough information in a blog titled "No idea".
Signing off till next time!
Ciao!!!
